BlueStar--A legend in China’s chemical industry created by seven people

Owned by China National BlueStar (Group) Co Ltd, "BlueStar" is the first famous trademark in China’s industrial service realm.

In 1984, on a usual business trip, Ren Jianxin, the founding father of BlueStar, was aware of a plain truth that China annually consumed at least 8,000,000 tons of coal due to the encrustation in boilers.

Ren felt sorrow for the huge energy waste, while the company he worked for, Lanzhou Chemical Machinery Institution, had developed Lan-5, a nitric acid pickling inhibitor for encrustation cleaning, but had no chance to apply it.

"The application of Lan-5 will not only make the best use of Lan-5, but also increase income for the company. Most importantly, it saves energy."

This simple idea of Ren made him resign from his secure job. With seven staff in total and a loan of 10 thousand yuan, Ren set up the first specialized cleaning company – BlueStar, which brought him into the field of industrial cleaning.

Through 25 years of hard work, BlueStar has expanded into a flagship company in China's chemical industry with assets of more than 40 billion yuan, which was a huge development compared with its initial status.

BlueStar achieved a perfect transformation from a silicon valley-type start-up to a state-owned enterprise, becoming a legend both in China's chemical industry and the business world.
