Recently, the “Technological Research and Equipment Development of Hydrogen Production by Electrolysis of Atmospheric Alkaline Water of High Current Density” jointly developed by Bluestar (Beijing) Chemical Machinery and Elkem Xinghuo Silicones passed the 72-hour on-site assessment organized by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) and the evaluation of scientific and technological achievement. The evaluation panel agreed that the technology, having reached the international advanced standard in terms of its high current density and extensive application and featuring excellent applicability, conforms to the national energy development strategy and industrial policy, and plays a positive role in stimulating green hydrogen development and accelerating energy transition, demonstrating broad application prospects and widespread application value.
The current achievement, as one of Sinochem’s key research projects (TOP50 Projects), enables the stable operation of a single-slot variable energy coupling device of wide current/power range (10%∼100%). The average DC energy consumption per standard cubic meter of hydrogen under the high current density of 10kA/m2 has reached the international advanced standard. Bluestar (Beijing) Chemical Machinery has applied for several invention patents (including PCT patents) and participated in the compilation of one group standard.
As a Manufacturing Single Champion Enterprise for ion membrane electrolyzers in China, Bluestar (Beijing) Chemical Machinery is a global leading supplier of equipment and technical services in the chloro-alkaline industry. We are working to extend and supplement the industrial chain through reliance on our technical advantages in the existing caustic soda production process by ion membrane electrolysis, which is vitally important to our strategic development, and even the fulfillment of Sinochem’s strategic mission for hydrogen energy sources.
