On May 21, Adisseo participated in the Nanjing High-quality Development Promotion Conference at the 3rd Jiangsu Development Summit. At this Summit, with the theme of “Seek Development Together and Create Shared Dreams” , the CPC Nanjing Municipal Committee and Nanjing Municipal People’s Government worked together with partners from all walks of life to promote the future common development of Nanjing through the ever-changing business environment and cutting-edge vision of continuous innovation. Chen Zhichang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Nanjing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Nanjing, as well as Long Xiang, Director of the Standing Committee of the Nanjing Municipal People’s Congress, and other leaders, attended the Conference. Fabien Siguier, Deputy General Manager and HR Executive Vice President of Adisseo delivered a speech at the Summit. As a global leader in the animal nutrition industry, Adisseo has always been confident in exploring the Chinese market and relying on Nanjing as a significant production base to continue its high-quality development in the future.
Nanjing is a modern city with a strong historical foundation. In 2009, Adisseo introduced the production line of methionine to China for the first time. It invested in the construction of China’s first liquid methionine plant in Nanjing’s Jiangbei New Area, filling the gap in methionine production in China. Based on the efficient, reliable, and safe ultra-stable operation of the Nanjing plant, Adisseo is continuously improving its industry position in the Chinese market. To further expand its capacity advantage, the 180KT liquid methionine plant (BANC2 project) was put into operation in 2022, bringing the methionine production capacity of Adisseo Nanjing Plant to 350,000 t/a, which makes Adisseo Nanjing Plant the world’s largest plant for producing liquid methionine monomer.
Adisseo’s China Research & Innovation Center (Nanjing) is one of its eight global R&D centers. After being put into trial operation in 2022, the Center has been accelerating its business growth under its strong local innovation capability, while constantly consolidating the close cooperation between enterprises and Nanjing. Driven by the Nanjing Plant and the Center, Nanjing will become a large-scale integrated operation base for Adisseo, combining production and supply, R&D and innovation, and will also become Adisseo’s “innovation engine” and “business booster” in the Asian market.
In his speech, Fabien Siguier said, “I am confident in Adisseo’s cooperation with China, and particularly with Nanjing. We had a capacity expansion plan for the Nanjing plant in 2019. Thanks to the strong support of the local government and the collaborative efforts of the French and Chinese teams, the BANC2 project was on schedule in 2022, even in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Such a massive project can only be achieved with the joint efforts of all partners”. Business partnerships breed emotional bonds of friendship, with Fabien Siguier noting in particular: “During the three years of the pandemic, the mutual assistance and support on supplies between the Adisseo international team and Chinese colleagues in the fight against the pandemic have shown us a profound friendship that goes far beyond the work itself.”
