On September 30, Jean-Marc Dublanc, CEO of Adisseo, received the 2022 Chinese Government Friendship Award. He is the fourth international executive of Bluestar to receive this award since 2014. The three previous executives who received the Friendship Award in 2018, 2017, and 2014, were Helge Aasen, CEO of Bluestar Elkem, Olivier De Clermont Tonnerre, Director of Bluestar, and Gerard Deman, Director of Bluestar.
Organized and implemented by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese Government Friendship Award--the highest honor the government bestows upon international experts for their contributions to development, aims to thank and commend the outstanding achievements and dedication of international experts in social development, economic, technological, educational, cultural and other construction undertakings and personnel training. The award is given once a year.
As a global animal nutrition expert, Jean-Marc Dublanc joined Adisseo in October 2006 and served as CEO of Adisseo in July 2010. During his tenure, the company has increased its sales twofold, profits fivefold, and company assets ninefold.
With actively involved in the construction of global animal nutrition industry, Jean-Marc Dublanc contributed to ensuring global food security as well as green transformation and low-carbon development of agriculture by realizing the reduction of feed grain consumption and increasing efficiency with technological innovation and empowerment and reducing greenhouse gas emissions from animal husbandry.
Through his unremitting efforts, Adisseo invested RMB 4.6 billion in 2008 to build a liquid methionine plant in Nanjing, which filled the gap in China's methionine industry and realized China's liquid methionine production capacity from scratch. Adisseo further invested another RMB 3.945 billion in the same year to build a new Liquid Methionine Project with an annual production capacity of 180,000 tons. At present, the Project has been officially put into operation, which signifies that Bluestar Adisseo's Nanjing plant has scaled to new heights to become the single plant with the most significant liquid methionine capacity in the world. The Project will continue to play an important role in the health and safety of the food supply chain, helping feed and food industry to develop in a green, low-carbon, and high-quality manner. In 2020, the global animal nutrition leader Bluestar Adisseo and the protein innovator Calysta jointly built the world's first industrial-scale FeedKind® facility in Chongqing. Commissioning and start-up activities have commenced at the facility. Focus on strengthening Adisseo's indigenous innovation and R&D capability, he started the construction of the China Research & Innovation Center in 2020 and put it into trial operation at the beginning of this year, aiming to build an "innovation engine" and business booster in the Asian market and spread innovative technology to the world.
Over the years, by making full use of international and domestic markets and resources, and promoting new industries and technologies to achieve new breakthroughs and new development, Jean-Marc Dublanc has provided his efforts to build the original technology source of Adisseo's original technology of animal nutrition and the "chain leader" of the modern industrial chain and contribute to global food security strategy and green and low-carbon development.
