New Material Chlor-alkali R&D Center (hereafter called NMCC) personnel recently visited Bluestar (Beijing) Chemical Machinery Co., Ltd. (BCMC), with both sides conducting in-depth exchanges and discussions on the future development of chlor-alkali technology.
Chlor-alkali is part of the core business of ChemChina New Materials Corporation (CNMC). In order to speed up the pace of technological innovation and boost the high-quality development of the enterprise, CNMC established a chlor-alkali R&D center in April 2021. The ion membrane chlor-alkali complete plant is one of BCMC’s leading products. In recent years, different models of low energy consumption electrolysis equipment have been rolled out, providing domestic and international chlor-alkali enterprises with the opportunities of reaching the cost-effective energy consumption in the industry.
NMCC and BCMC exchanged views on the current situation and development direction of energy-saving technology in the chlor-alkali industry. NMCC focused on the electrolytic water-to-hydrogen production technology developed by BCMC based on the chlor-alkali electrolysis technology. NMCC and BCMC had in-depth discussions on the application of chlor-alkali process in the electrolytic water-to-hydrogen production and how to transform chlor-alkali complete plants into electrolytic water-to-hydrogen units.
Chlor-alkali is a high-energy-consuming industry. To further implement the carbon emission peak and carbon neutrality objectives of the National 14th Five-Year Plan, practice the concept of science-driven development and integrate themselves into the new development pattern, both sides will reach a consensus through communication and cooperation, leap into action, continue to increase the investment in R&D, strengthen cooperation, draw on each other’s strengths and create sustainable value, lead the development of enterprises through technological innovation, and embark on the fast track of industrial technologies so as to create a bright future.
