At the Second Electricity Market Development Forum held recently, China Electricity Council, Beijing Power Exchange Center, Guangzhou Power Exchange Center and National Renewable Energy Information Management Center jointly released the “2023 Top 100 Chinese Green Electricity (GEC) Consumers”. China’s green electricity (GEC) consumption specifically refers to green electricity consumption for which environmental premiums are paid, with the green electricity certificate (GEC) serving as the only proof. The release of the TOP 100 enterprises aims to commend enterprises for their outstanding contributions to promoting the green transition of energy consumption and achieving sustainable development.

Furthermore, Elkem Xinghuo Silicones focuses on the integrated development of PV power and new energy + energy storage in its constant efforts to explore new breakthroughs in energy conservation and carbon reduction. The 1.75 MW PV generation project constructed in cooperation with Jiangxi Guoxing Smart Energy Co., Ltd. and comprehensive smart energy projects such as light, energy storage and charging piles integrating a zero-carbon photovoltaic energy storage and charging system have been completed and put into service, thereby further improving the energy utilization structure.
In recent years, Elkem Xinghuo Silicones has carried out a series of actions such as identification of high-energy-consuming electrical equipment, purchase of new green, eco-friendly and highly efficient energy-saving equipment and materials, transformation of power facilities, and optimization of power supply paths. In addition, Elkem Xinghuo Silicones purchased electric vehicles to pick up and drop off employees working in remote areas, and employees at its third factory took the initiative to transform more than 20 electric bicycles for commuting purposes. All these measures have greatly boosted the clean transformation of energy structure and positively contributed to energy conservation and emission reduction in transportation.
